Editorial Policy

Last updated October 10, 2026

This page explains how the articles in our Resources section are written, checked, and corrected. Articles bylined “AlphaMD Editorial Team” are produced under this policy.

How articles are drafted

We use AI writing tools to help draft articles. A member of the AlphaMD team then edits and fact-checks every article before it is published.

Medical review

We are adding medical review to our articles. Reviewers are licensed clinicians who provide care through AlphaMD's affiliated professional practices. You can read about our providers.

A reviewer reads the article for medical accuracy and either approves it or asks for changes. If changes are needed, we revise the article and send it back for review.

A review covers only the version of the article the clinician read. If we change a reviewed article, that review no longer counts until a clinician reviews the new version.

Not every article has been medically reviewed yet. An article has been reviewed only if it says “Medically reviewed by” with the reviewer's name.

Sources

Medical claims in our articles should be supported by primary sources, such as clinical practice guidelines from professional societies, peer-reviewed studies, and FDA drug labeling. Many of our older articles do not yet meet this standard. We are bringing them up to it as they go through medical review.

Some Resources pages present a published study. Those pages name the original publisher in the byline.

Our interest

AlphaMD offers some of the treatments our articles discuss. Our articles are for general information. They are not medical advice, and they do not replace a visit with a licensed clinician who knows your health history.

Corrections

If you think something in one of our articles is wrong or out of date, email contact@alphamd.net. Please include the article's link and what you think should change. If a correction is needed, we update the article. If the article was medically reviewed, the corrected version goes back to a clinician.
