- Subcutaneous (under the skin), the most common: 1 mL insulin syringes with the needle attached, so you draw and inject with the same syringe. Typically 29G, ½ inch.
- Intramuscular (into the muscle): injection kits with a 21G drawing needle, a 25G injection needle, and a 1 mL syringe.
The exact syringe can vary by pharmacy.
